The Centre for Subtropical Design promotes community, government and industry engagement regarding future habitation in warm climates, locally, regionally and globally. It does this through a number of key activities including:
- Consultation and commercial research
- ARC and CRC research projects
- International collaborative projects
- Research through design charrettes – see Research Projects for more information
- Subtropical Cities Conference series – events every two years
- Partnerships with industry, government and other research institutions
- Publications demonstrating aspects of subtropical design
- Contributing to the community debate on the future of living in warm climates
- Awarding the Travel Bursary – see CSD Ambassadors
- Centre representatives participate in diverse forums and events
